Macy’s Thanksgiving and Holiday Cookbook

Celebrating a National Tradition

IACP Cookbook Award Finalist

Every year, 3.5 million people line the streets of New York to watch Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, while another 53 million tune in at home. That’s one-sixth of the American population! So I was pretty excited when the head of the Parade Group contacted The Book Kitchen, the boutique custom publishing company I co-founded, to do a cookbook commemorating the parade’s 85th anniversary. For the recipes, we worked with the superstar chefs of The Macy’s Culinary Council. And for the section on the parade’s history and behind-the-scenes madness, we dug through the Macy’s archives in New York to unearth rare photos, documents, and ephemera.

“Even though it’s definitely targeted at the holidays, there are a number of menus you won’t want to wait until it’s a special occasion to make. There’s really something for everyone’s taste and level of skill in the kitchen too….If there is a cookbook lover on your list these holidays, I’d definitely recommend a copy.”
